Dr. Krochak is more than just an amazing dentist at NYC Smile Spa, he is also the founder of the Dr. Michael Krochak Pre-Dental Scholarship. This is a scholarship that is dedicated to students who are interested in pursuing the field of dentistry. If you have a child or loved one who may be interested in pursuing a career in dentistry, this opportunity may be perfect for them!
History of the Scholarship
If you have been a long-time patient of Dr. Michael Krochak, you may know that he has been practicing general dentistry for over 37 years. He enjoys his work and is passionate about the future of dentistry, and he wants to encourage students to pursue this career. Dr. Krochak has a strong fundamental belief in education, which is seen with the numerous continuing education opportunities he and his team participate in yearly. This belief system led him to develop a scholarship opportunity to assist students pursuing a dental career to offset the ever-rising costs of dental tuition. The first winner was announced in March of 2020, the second winner in March of 2021, and the third winner was announced this past March. The most recent winner was Yanet Olvera, a student at Palomar College.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
The Dr. Michael Krochak Pre-Dental Scholarship is available to any college junior or senior who is enrolled in a US accredited college or university. The interested student should be engaged in pre-dental studies with a GPA of 3.3 or higher by the end of their sophomore year. The application process includes a submission of an essay of 750 words or less explaining why you would like to become a dentist. You also need to submit a copy of your school transcript. Applications for the 2023 award must be submitted by January 31, 2023! Be sure to get your application in or share with a loved one who might be interested in it soon!
