Your smile has been changing right along with you. Some changes are easy to notice, while others happen so gradually that you may not realize they’re occurring at all. That’s why the dental care that was right for you years ago may not always be exactly what your smile needs today.
Many fillings continue doing their job well for years without causing any problems, but the absence of pain doesn’t tell us everything about the condition of a filling or the natural tooth surrounding it. That is why we check your existing dental work even when you feel perfectly comfortable.
There’s no prize for being the fastest person to finish a dental appointment. You don’t get bonus points for sitting perfectly still when you need a break, pretending you understand something when you would like us to explain it again, or trying to tough it out when you’re uncomfortable. If you ever need a minute to breathe, want another explanation, or just want to take a small break, tell us.
Your smile is a component of your face, which is why cosmetic dentistry should never be approached as though the teeth exist on their own. At NYC Smile Spa, personalized care is an important part of our philosophy. When we consider cosmetic treatment, the goal is not simply to create attractive teeth. It is to create a result that looks natural and feels right for you.
Have you ever caught yourself with your teeth pressed together while answering emails, sitting in traffic, or concentrating on something? It can happen without you even noticing. Clenching is one of those habits that can quietly become part of your day. You may not feel stressed, and you may not think anything is wrong, but your jaw can still be holding onto a surprising amount of tension.
